Fitalytic wants you to start exercising and tell the world about it:
The idea here is that whenever you do any exercise, you tweet about what you did. If you follow the generous formatting rules that Fitalytic supports, it’s able to pull that data out and make pretty charts showing your progress over time. The front page of the site shows recent updates from other users, so you can really get a feel for how flexible the messages can be. A random example: “went for a big #run today 14kms in 01:23:14 - also #weight is 91.4kg @fitalytic”. It’s nifty.
Let me just say, I think this is brilliant. Sort of like the Twitter weight-yourself-scale that you can buy, the key here is a friendly bit of public shame if you fall behind on your efforts. Once you’re really into the swing of things, seeing charts showing how well you’ve been doing — plus a Twitter timeline full of status updates — would be a great motivator to keep you going.
