Brightspoke is building a one-stop shop for bike enthusiasts:

I love the layout of the front page: it’s easy to read, tells me what the site is for, and exposes all of the available functionality — and that’s saying something. Brightspoke has a lot to offer: in addition to a searchable database of bikes, there’s a lots of educational material to clue you into what matters about bikes and teach you how they work, and their Ask Brightspoke feature makes good use of Twitter.

As a non-bike guy, I can’t really speak to the completeness of their list of bikes, but their bike comparison tool is great: it lets you compare two bikes side-by-side, the way gadget sites let you compare televisions. It’s a good idea, and it’s executed well.

Niche sites are the wave of the future, and these folks are off to a good start. Follow them at @brightspoke.
