nowmov

nowmov is a real-time stream of videos that are being passed around the Internet:

You’re presented with a never–ending playlist of YouTube videos, pulled from public tweets (and other sources too, someday). You never know what you’ll see: music videos, silly memes, news clips — it depends on the mood of the day. If a major world event is happening, things are much more likely to be weighted towards news clips, for example.

It’s pretty fascinating, especially if you’re just looking to idly pass the time. You can sort of think of it as chatroulette for video clips — great for randomness and serendipity, but not useful at all if you’re looking for something in particular.

I can see this evolving in a few directions. In particular, I’d love to see something like this built into one of the new television sets that have widget supports, or on the  Xbox 360 dashboard. However it gets there, this really wants to be on my TV.

Follow them at @nowmov for a random selection of interesting clips.
